Straightening teeth is one of the most common reasons why people go to the dentist. And oftentimes, using braces is what is done to achieve that purpose. However, with this process, it would take a long while before you see any results and the pain that it brings is of no help at all. This is why it is not surprising for people to look for other ways or means that could be used in straightening their teeth. The question is, are there really alternatives? And if there are, could they provide equal or better results than that given by braces?

To the question, can you straighten your teeth without braces, the answer is yes. Could you have anything less? With the cost for braces alone, I was sure that people would devise ways to straighten their teeth without using any braces at all. Now, one of the alternatives invented is Invisalign. This option, instead of metal, uses mouthpieces that could shape the teeth and its appearance is similar to that retainers. As regards the results, you would have to wait a year to see them and know that this option is best for relatively minor teeth misalignment. Another option that you can check out is having the imperfections covered with veneers, which are available in composite and porcelain. But if you are considering this painless option, better to talk to your dentist first to see if it really is the right choice for you.

There are other options that could be employed in straightening your teeth. There’s cosmetic contouring, but if you’re really concerned about finances, this might not be the best option because it involves a set of procedures performed by cosmetic dentists. There are also removable orthodontic appliances offered today, which are, however, applicable only to certain cases.
